Central Michigan Life is celebrating Sunshine Week from March 15 to 21 this year. It recognizes the importance of public records and open government.

Carpenter wrote for the Michigan Press Association about the Michigan House's efforts to extend the Freedom of Information Act to the governor's office and the legislature. So far, none of the bills have been enacted into law that would make Michigan's executive branch and legislature subject to FOIA.
