Bunting named MAC West Special Teams Player of the Week

Central Michigan football’s sophomore Sean Bunting was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Special Teams Player of the Week.

The Clinton Township native had a 60-yard blocked field goal return for a touchdown as time expired in the first half of CMU’s 26-23 victory over Ohio on Saturday.

The starting cornerback also set a career-high with nine tackles on defense. Bunting has 31 tackles on the season.

The Chippewas (3-3, 1-1 MAC) return home on Saturday, Oct. 14, to take on Toledo for the annual homecoming game. Kickoff from Kelly/Shorts Stadium is at 3:30 p.m.
