Senior cornerback Amari Coleman accepts NFLPA Collegiate Bowl invitation

On Jan. 20 in Pasadena, California, Central Michigan cornerback Amari Coleman will take the field for the final time in his collegiate career. 

The 5-foot-11, 188-pound native of Flint, Michigan has accepted his invitation to play in the 2018 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl at Rose Bowl Stadium. 

Through four seasons at CMU, Coleman has logged 139 total tackles, nine tackles for a loss, one sack, eight interceptions, three touchdowns, 28 passes deflected, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. 

He has returned 23 kickoffs for 503 yards and 13 punts for 33 yards. 

During the 2017 season, which Coleman helped the Chippewas to an 8-4 regular season and 6-2 record in Mid-American Conference play, he registered 42 total tackles four tackles for a loss, three interceptions, one touchdown and seven passes deflected.

The inaugural NFLA Collegiate Bowl was played on Jan. 21, 2012. The two teams involved are the National Team and American Team. Throughout the six seasons of existence, the National Team is 6-0. 

The NFLPA Collegiate Bowl will be streamed live on Jan. 20 on Fox Sports 1.
