Wrestling jumps to No. 16, Stencel drops out of Top 20

Despite an idle weekend, Central Michigan wrestling jumped one spot to No. 16 in this week's USA Today poll.

The team moves up one spot from No. 17 and currently stand at 6-4 in dual meets.

Redshirt freshman Matt Stencel has dropped out of InterMat's Top 20 in the heavyweight class this week.

Every other ranked wrestler remains in the same position as last week, according to InterMat.

Sophomore Mason Smith (141-pound wrestler) remains at No. 9. Junior Justin Oliver remains at No. 4 at 149 pounds. Senior Colin Heffernan (157) remains at No. 14.

Seniors CJ Brucki (174) and Jordan Ellingwood (184) remain at No. 15 in their respective weight classes. 

CMU wrestling faces Old Dominion at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 4 at the Ted Constant Center.
