Students and faculty can attend a research tour of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry starting at 3 p.m. Feb. 2 in the Dow Science Complex and the Biosciences Building.

The event is hosted by the American Chemical Society – Student Members, a student organization that focuses on chemistry and aims for more community interaction.

The tour will allow the students and faculty a chance to interact and discover more about the research going on at CMU.

Thirty minutes before the tour, materials will be handed out in Dow Science Building room 135.  The guided research tour will take place after the introduction at 3:30 p.m. on the second and third floors of the Dow Science Building.

During this time, faculty and student researchers will present their work for students and faculty to see. Attendees can meet the researchers and learn about their labs and what they are working on, along with learning about the facilities. Lab groups who participate in the research tour will have a chance to win a group party.

The tour will end with a social for all attendees. Raffle ticket prizes and pizza will be at 4:30 p.m. in Dow room 135.
