The Central Michigan men’s basketball team is heading to Lynchburg, Virginia for the quarterfinal round of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.

CMU (21-14) will take on Liberty (21-14) at 2 p.m. on March 24 in the Vines Center.

The Chippewas are coming off a 98-94 second round win over Wofford on March 16. CMU has now won five of its last six games.

The win over Fort Wayne in the CIT First Round on March 12 marked CMU’s first postseason win since 2003. That was when the Chippewas topped Creighton in the NCAA Tournament First Round. CMU has yet to reach the NCAA Tournament under head coach Keno Davis.

If the Chippewas were to advance with a win over Eagles, they would play in the semifinal round on March 28. A victory in that contest would earn CMU a spot in the championship game, which is scheduled for March 30.
