The Central Michigan University Collegiate Panhellenic Council discuss volunteerism and new marketing strategies to aid recruitment efforts next semester and beyond at its April 10 meeting.

The CPC consists of 11 sororities on campus including Sigma Sigma Sigma, Phi Mu, Delta Phi Epsilon, Phi Sigma Sigma, Zeta Tau Alpha, Delta Zeta, Sigma Kappa, Alpha Sigma Tau, Alpha Sigma Alpha, Alpha Gamma Delta and Alpha Chi Omega.

Speakers at the meeting included Graduate Assistant Zachary Evans, who spoke on behalf of the Mary Ellen Brandell Volunteer Center to address "Be My Neighbor Day," a day of service on-campus working with different non-profit organizations.

Evans encouraged members to sign up for specific volunteer sites for Be My Neighbor Day and to get involved with events hosted by the volunteer center.

Katelyn Haas, CPC president, announced the first-ever Greek Life banquet will take place April 11 for president and vice presidents of the different Greek organizations. Slideshows during the banquet will include achievements of chapters and photos.

Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life, Jordan Borchert, discussed Innova Marketing coming to campus and working with the Greek community. Innova Marketing is a marketing firm committed to advancing Greek Life.

A team from Innova will visit the university on April 19 and 20. The service provided by the company will provide more than 20 pages of personalized marketing strategies.

"(Innova Marketing is) really successful, they're on other campuses," Borchert said. "I think they will help in our recruitment and membership intake for next year."

Borchert said the marketing team will offer a keynote speaker, focus groups and will provide chapters with detailed information on how to strengthen recruitment techniques.
