The CMU Women's Basketball Team celebrate their regular season championship on Feb. 28 at McGuirk Arena.

In a season of program records, the Central Michigan women's basketball team added yet another accolade to their already historic 2017-18 run.

The Chippewas debuted in the final USA Today coaches poll ranked No. 20 on April 2. The ranking is the highest in program history, and the highest of the three mid-major programs ranked in the Top 25.

In the NCAA tournament, 11th-seeded CMU defeated sixth-seeded LSU in the first round, a storied program that made its 26th appearance in the NCAA tournament against the Chippewas and has five final fours in its history.

In the second round, CMU took down Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio 95-78.

CMU's Sweet Sixteen run in the NCAA tournament came to an end at the hands of Oregon on March 24 in Spokane by a score of 83-69. It marked the first time CMU has made an appearance in the Sweet Sixteen.

Buffalo, another Mid-American Conference team, made their first appearance in the coaches poll at No. 21 after making its first program appearance in the Sweet Sixteen. The Bulls lost to South Carolina in the third round.
