Summer Farmers' Market moves to downtown Mount Pleasant

Beginning June 30, downtown Mount Pleasant will be transformed into an outdoor market on Saturday mornings, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. as the new Saturday Farmers' Market location.

The market is moving from City Hall to Michigan St. near the downtown Main St. intersection. Michigan St. will be closed to traffic one black east of Main St. on Saturdays, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Parking will be available in the south west parking lot of Michigan and Main streets.

Locally grown foods, colorful plants and homemade baked goods are just a few of the many things customers will be able to purchase at the market throughout the summer.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program recipients will be able to use their Michigan Bridge Card at the market, as well as a debit or credit card. Double Up Food Bucks, WIC Project FRESH and Senior Project FRESH/Market FRESH coupons will also be accepted.

The Thursday Farmers' Market begins on June 7 and will remain at Island Park every Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
