Back-to-school poster sale open through Friday this week

Central Michigan University students browse the selection of posters available at the back-to-school poster sale Sept. 10 in the Bovee University Center Rotunda.

The annual back-to-school poster sale is open this week through Friday, Sept. 13 in the Bovee University Center Rotunda. The store is open each day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Students can choose from thousands of poster designs pertaining to music, movies, art, culture and more. They can also pick up frames and poster tape.

"The students come back to their university with empty walls in their dorms; they come here to get some inspiration," said Patricia Saura, an employee at the poster sale. "The posters can show their personality, who they are, what they like, and the image they try to project to their friends."

Since 1974, the College Poster Sale Company has conducted the annual sale at universities all over the country.

"We always require a sponsoring partner in order to come to campus," according to the company's website. "Whether we are on campus through a student organization, campus store or any other segment of the establishment, this partner is paid a percentage of sales at the completion of the event."

In this case, both the College Poster Sale Company and CMU will receive commission from the sales.
