Woman, 53, dies in Mount Pleasant car crash
Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that left one woman dead Friday morning in Mount Pleasant.
Michigan State Police identified the woman killed in the crash as Deanna Evanzo, 53, who was a Morley resident.
State troopers were dispatched to the fatal crash at 10:20 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, on E. Fremont Road near S. Crawford Road in Isabella County, according to a news release issued by MSP.
Police said Evanzo was traveling east on Fremont Road in a 2002 Toyota Camry when she lost control of the vehicle on the gravel roadway. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled into several trees, according to the release.
Evanzo was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, the release said. The female driver was the only occupant of the vehicle.
Police believe speed was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
