To help meet the increasing demand for face coverings, the Mount Pleasant Area Community Foundation will be giving away 20,000 non-surgical, cloth masks.

People can pick up the free masks at the no-contact, drive-up distribution from 4-6 p.m. May 28 at Central Michigan University's McGuirk Arena and Shepherd High School.

"Parking lots in both locations will allow drivers to pop the trunk, or roll down the windows, to receive masks for their household," according to a Mount Pleasant Area Community Foundation press release. "Drivers are asked to remain in their vehicle."

Contributions to support more COVID-19 relief efforts in Isabella County can be made at the Mount Pleasant Area Community Foundation website.

This event is supported by Logos Galore, CMU’s Herbert H. & Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions, Mid-Central Area Health Education Center, CMU Police Department, Shepherd Public Schools, Shepherd Police Department, WCFX 95.3, and WNEM-TV5.
