IO Psychology research focuses on leadership, urgency skills

The Industrial/Organizational Psychology program is working with Central Michigan University’s Medical School on research to develop training to teach medical students teamwork and leadership skills in urgent situations.“There are nurses, physicians, and physician assistants who are all working together to save people's lives and sometimes fatal errors may occur simply due to a lack of training on teamwork and communication,” said Arlington, Texas graduate program student Bailey Schorck, who assisted in the research.




Medical students raise awareness for high physician suicide rates

Brittany Fields never considered the dangers of suicide until she saw the toll depression took on her peers.The second year student at the Central Michigan University College of Medicine is a co-leader of the public health and health policy student interest group.Fields organized a committee of nine second year medical students, including herself.
