Turner, Croskey, Mixon garner awards

Turner, a senior wide receiver from Florida, was named to the Verizon Academic All-American second team. Last season he was honored as a first-team selection.

He carries a 3.96 grade- point average and majors in business and management information systems. On the field he led CMU with 43 receptions and 506 yards receiving.

Croskey was named to the All-MAC first team. The senior offensive guard from East Lansing was also a co-captain of the 4-8 squad. He also received the Kurt Dobronski Award, given to a senior who demonstrates great effort, intensity and appreciation for CMU football. That award was presented at the team’s postseason banquet.

Mixon capped off his season by winning the team MVP award as voted by his teammates. He also was named to the All-MAC second team as he set a conference record with 377 rushing yards at Eastern Michigan Nov. 2.

The senior had 1,361 yards rushing for seventh best in school history and third place in the conference.
