Seniors Henderson, Eidson earn honors
Laurie Henderson and Desiree Eidson were veteran leaders on a CMU womens basketball team that brimmed with inexperience.
During the teams annual awards banquet, Henderson earned the teams Most Valuable Player award. The guard finished the season scoring in double figures five of her final seven games. Henderson led the team in assists 10 times this season and had a career-high 15 points against Oklahoma State.
Hendersons all-around ability also received recognition, as she won Best Defensive Player and Top Free-Throw Shooter.
Eidson leaves CMU as the latest member of the 1,000 point club. One of the best rebounders in the MAC, Eidson earned teams Top Rebounder. The forward averaged 6.2 per game this season.
Freshman Chasidy Myers steady progression earned her The Most Improved award, while sophomore Emily Gross consistant hard work and dedidcation were major factors in her winning the Free Throw and Three Point Champion awards.
The Dee Pommerenk award began last season to reward a player who displayes a positive attitude, teamwork and a willingness to contribute to the maximum effort. Hard-working junior Raina Harmon won the award.
