$1.3 million discrepancy in stimulus requests
According to university officials, there is a $1.13 million discrepancy between requested stimulus finding projects on file with the state and with those in Warriner Hall.
According to Michigan's Web site, Central Michigan University has submitted at total of $175,036,667 for four specific project requests.
However, David Burdette, associate vice president of Finance and Administrative Services does not know where more than $1.13 million of the proposed plan on michigan.gov came from.
The Microsoft Excel document with the funding request on the state Web site lists 10 projects from CMU, including $140,000 requested for the Michigan Story Festival, held every fall at CMU, and $200,000 in funding for a documentary on a poet from Detroit.
"I don't know where (those requests came from)," Burdette said Thursday afternoon.
Burdette said CMU only sent for funding requests for four projects, including $75 million for the proposed bio-tech building, $19.9 million for the expansion of the Health Professions Building for the new medical school and $14 million for infrastructure upgrades for Anspach Hall.
