KENNETT | Are you the Tour de Franzia type, or the fruity cocktail?

College students are, by nature, among the most fickle and non-committal of all age groups.

From relationships to fashion, many of us either simply cannot make up our minds, or are mindfully choosing to embrace our freedom of choice.

This ideology also carries over to a popular college pastime: drinking.

Much has been written about what your drink of choice says about you, but I decided to come up with my own list, based solely on observations and consultation with some "experts" (i.e. typical college students).

Here goes:

Beer: When a female is found to be a frequent beer drinker, it's always a pleasant surprise for men.

"Oh you like beer? Wow, you are so different from other girls," they think.

"How wonderfully low-maintenance. I love you," is the typical thought pattern, and sometimes this is even voiced to the female, depending on how drunk the guy is.

Wine: The purchase of boxed wine automatically means there is a sloppy drunk ready to get tanked.

The boxed wine drinker will probably get to the point where they take the bag out and pose for several embarrassing Facebook photos as they chug from their sack of cheap alcohol. They may even be kind enough to open the spout and share a sip with a friend.

Bottled wine, despite the wide price range, automatically means a classier kind of person. They may not encompass total sophistication, but they are probably looking more for a quiet evening with a few close friends.

Whiskey/Bourbon/Scotch: If you are a female who enjoys Jack Daniel's, then it is quite clear you are trying to be one of the guys - particularly those who consider themselves "tough guys" or "man's men."

So, if you want to be seen as a tough guy, go ahead ladies - prove you can look just as tough downing some Jack and Coke. If you want to look extra rebellious pull out some cigarettes and make sure to curse a little.

Vodka and fruit juice: With an impressive alcohol content, there are plenty of options for vodka drinks, but many actually involve - gasp - healthy beverages to mix with it.

There are screwdrivers with orange juice, and Bloody Marys with tomato juice - likely the choice for health nuts, vegans, vegetarians or someone with an overall "hippie" vibe, as they can't even enjoy a night out without thinking about what they may be doing to their bodies.

Flavored liqueurs and cocktails: These have female written all over them. That's not to say that males can't enjoy the flavorful, fruity benefits these drinks offer, though.

Note the episode of 'Scrubs' where J.D. orders an Appletini, 'easy on the tini.' It's usually the choice of a guy who is more in touch with his feminine side and doesn't care about impressing the guys with incessant shots or glasses of beer.

Good for him.
