Lennox II: Demetri Martin is an irresponsible expense
I was appalled to find out that Central Michigan University's Program Board is wasting $43,000 of taxpayer money on comedian Demetri Martin.
While I understand there's a charge for tickets, I doubt the university will sell enough tickets to cover the cost of this absurd honorarium.
As a student and taxpayer, I am disgusted by the lack of fiscal responsibility.
In these tough economic times, CMU must re-evaluate unnecessary spending and eliminate waste and excess.
Instead of wasting the $43,000 on entertainment, micro-scholarships could have awarded to needy students.
Shame on CMU.
