UAW, CMU reach tentative agreement

CMU and the United Auto Workers Local 6888 union has reached a tentative contract agreement for the 2009-10 academic year. The union represents approximately 330 office professional employees around campus. The tentative agreement was reached at a bargaining session Thursday.

City wide sale this weekend

The sixth annual City wide Garage Sale will take place this weekend around Mount Pleasant. There will be raffles for sellers and a sweepstakes for buyers. For more information, call 773-3717.

Films

Summer reading program airing movie Tuesday

A film showing will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Veterans Memorial Library, located at 301 S. University Ave. The film will document artist David Drayton and a small town fighting off creatures out of an unnatural vapor. Space is limited to the first 200 people that attend and is on a first come, first-serve basis. For more information, call 773-3242.

Farmers Market

Happening this week downtown

The Farmers Market will take place again this Thursday and Sunday. The market will happen from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday in Island Park, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in Town Center in downtown Mount Pleasant. Farmers from across mid-Michigan will gather to sell their produce each week until October 10. For more information, call 779-5331.
