October tire slasher still unidentified

The CMU Police Department is still searching for an on-campus vandal from early October.

An unidentified male subject allegedly slashed the tires of 10 cars in the parking lots surrounding the Towers Residence Halls complex. The incidents took place in the early morning of Oct. 9.

He was described as 5 feet 7 inches tall and blonde. A picture, taken from a videocamera, is available on the CMU Police website.

Sgt. Cameron Wassman said no motive is know at this point.

“This appears to be someone who appeared to go out and cause trouble for people,” he said.

No witnesses have come forward to the police with any information regarding the suspect or the victims.

“The ten victims were not connected in any fashion,” Wassman said.

Police are offering a reward of $250 for information leading to the suspect’s arrest. Those with information are asked to call dispatch at 774-3081 or the tip line at 774-1874.
