Search for new vice president position underway, consultant to assist with process

The position was created after Ross made leadership changes he announced Jan. 11. and which became effective Jan. 17.

“While a vice president for enrollment and student services is a new position at CMU, it is an integral part of the administrative team at comparable universities,” Ross said in an internal e-mail.

He said the intent is to have the new vice president hired to begin work this summer.

The search committee will be co-chaired by Christopher D. Ingersoll, dean of The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions, and Kevin Love, a College of Business Administration faculty member from the management department.

Ten other people round out the committee, including university administrators, college deans, faculty and one student.

An official job description and advertisement for the position is in the development stages.

Open forums will be held on campus once finalists have been chosen.
