CMU baseball tabbed to win MAC West


The Central Michigan baseball team was picked to win its second consecutive Mid-American Conference West Division title, the league announced Tuesday.

In the conference's preseason poll, CMU received 69 points to finish first in the MAC West, just ahead of Toledo.

Kent State, last year's conference champion, was picked to repeat as MAC East winner. The Golden Flashes have won the division crown four out of the last five years.

CMU finished 36-22 in 2010 and claimed the MAC regular season championship. The Chippewas lost 5-3 against Kent State in the finals of the conference tournament.
