CMU to play Michigan State at Comerica Park

Central Michigan and Michigan State are ready to make history.

The two schools will play in the first-ever college baseball game at Comerica Park in Detroit on April 20. The game was moved from Midland's Dow Diamond, where the two teams have played the last two years.

A news conference has been called for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Detroit to announce the game, with CMU Athletics Director Dave Heeke, head coach Steve Jaksa and sophomore pitcher Dietrich Enns scheduled to appear. MSU head coach Jake Boss and senior Jeff Holm will represent the Spartans.

CMU finished the 2009-10 season 36-22 overall, winning the Mid-American Conference regular season championship. MSU went 34-19 and 11-13 in the Big Ten. Both teams split their pair of meetings last year.
