Gentle Friday moved to Finch Fieldhouse due to weather

The grounds of Warriner Hall are too soggy to host Gentle Friday activities because of this week's heavy rainfall.

Pinconning senior Crysta Heckman, vice president of Program Board, said the festivities have been moved to Finch Fieldhouse.

She said the soggy ground would make it impossible to set up staging or any of the inflatables they have.

"It's just really muddy and soggy and gross," she said.

No activities were canceled, however, because of the move indoors. Heckman said activities include five inflatables, a mechanical bull, an improvisational comedy act by After Hours Improv, a miniature golf course and spin art. Free hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks also will be provided.

She does not think the venue change will have an adverse affect on attendance.

"Between (500) to 800 people attend Gentle Friday every single year," Heckman said.

The event will go from 12 to 5 p.m. on Friday, and will be free and open to the public. Three live music performances will begin at 1 p.m.
