Officials investigating hit-and-run accident involving pedestrian and SUV

A 19-year-old Grand Rapids man's condition is still unknown after a hit-and-run at 2:12 a.m. Friday on East Bluegrass Road.

The victim was illegally crossing the road with several people when hit by a dark colored SUV said Isabella County Sheriff Leo Mioduszewski.

The pedestrian was unconscious when deputies arrived after he illegally crossed but later gained consciousness and was transported to Central Michigan Community Hospital. He was then transported to Covenant Hospital in Saginaw.

Police believe alcohol was a factor.

The group of individuals walking with the pedestrian said the SUV slowed down briefly before driving off.  Officials said there is damage to the driver's side front left portion of the vehicle.
