Armed robberies on Mission Street, Remus Road under investigation


An armed robbery occurred in the area of Mission Street and Appian Way at 12:22 p.m. Saturday.

At 12:45 p.m., Central Alert reported a male suspect committed a robbery at a check-cashing store.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic or Native American male, approximately 5-foot-9 with a medium build.

He was carrying a black handgun, wearing a ski mask, black sunglasses and a black jacket.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 911.

This armed robbery follows another Saturday at 12:05 a.m. that occurred at the Next Door Food Store, 2025 E. Remus Road

The Mount Pleasant State Police Post reported a male suspect entered the store holding a firearm and demanded money from the cashier.

Upon receiving money, the suspect left the area in an unknown vehicle.

The suspect is described as a possibly white male with a dark complexion. He was wearing a dark coat with possible denim jeans. He is clean-shaven with dark, short hair.

The vehicle is described as possibly a dark colored, newer vehicle with a silver color front grille with lettering. The make and model are unknown.

The investigation is ongoing.
