Baseball crushed at Toledo 11-0 in series-opener

Sophomore pitcher Jordan Foley had his first bad outing of the season as the baseball team was crushed by Toledo 11-0 Saturday afternoon at Scott Park.

Foley gave up six earned runs over four innings and dropped to 6-2. Coming into the game he had given up just seven earned runs all season and had 1.02 ERA.

The offense wasn’t able to give him any run support either. CMU put runners in scoring position just twice against senior Kyle Shaw, who pitched a complete game and struck out nine batters.

The Chippewas and Rockets  were scheduled to play a doubleheader today. Instead, they will do so tomorrow with game one beginning at 12:05 p.m.

The team has yet to announce who will start on the mound in that game but senior Rick Dodridge will start game two. The right-hander is 1-3 with a 2.53 ERA this season.
