Big Sean ticket blitz a success

A one-day ticket sale special for the Oct. 11 Big Sean concert was held yesterday for students.

According to Director of Student Activities and Involvement Damon Brown, the deal was buy one ticket at regular price, receive the second $5 off. A six-ticket maximum purchasing limit was enforced.

Student prices were $25 for floor and $20 for bleacher seats. Prices for the general public were $35 and $25, respectively.

Brown said the Ticket Blitz offer was a huge success, selling more than 1,000 tickets.

“The Ticket Blitz, went from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. We had a great turn out with full lines and a great deal of tickets sold,” Brown said.

Pinckney sophomore Taylor Kruk was one of many students who received this offer.

“I went to the B.O.B. concert last year and had a blast, so this year I wanted to go to a concert again. When I heard about the ticket sale, I couldn’t help but go as early as possible,” Kruk said. “I bought six floor tickets for a great price and the line went by incredibly fast. I am very excited for the concert.”

While the special ended yesterday, tickets can still be bought at regular price through Ticket Central starting Sept. 16 until the day of the concert or until it is sold out.

The concert starts at 8 p.m. with Travis Porter opening the show.

With the amount of tickets sold yesterday, and still time to buy more, Program Board is expecting more sales and a full arena.

“The Big Sean tour dates worked out perfectly with our schedule, and after today’s turnout being such a success, we are hoping for a filled concert,” said Brown. “Plus, there still is plenty of time to buy tickets.”
