BREAKING: University suspends work-hour limitations for 2014

Central Michigan University employees will no longer be restricted to 25-hour work weeks and are now able to continue working regular hours.

CMU’s Human Resources announced Wednesday that the regulations will be suspended for 2014 after being enacted for only two months.

According to a university news release, the lift on limitations is temporary, but will include student employees, temporary staff, graduate assistants, Global Campus adjunct faculty and less than half of the fixed-term faculty.

The university anticipates the work-hour limitation will be reinstated January 2015, unless a further delay is approved at the federal level.
