Soaring Eagle packs line-up for fall semester

From pop-rock icons Fall Out Boy to country sensations Little Big Town, Central Michigan University students and Mount Pleasant residents will have no shortage of musical fun this semester as Soaring Eagle Casino gets set to host months of great music.

The concerts and events range from the raunchy to the retro. To plan your next night out with some tasty musical fare, Central Michigan Life has compiled a list of the must-see groups at the premier Mount Pleasant locale. All tickets can be purchased online or at the Soaring Eagle box office. 

Fall Out Boy wsg. New Politics

After a five-year hiatus, Fall Out Boy reclaimed the hearts of college students everywhere with their album "Save Rock and Roll." The pop-punk rock band will be hitting the stage at The Soaring Eagle Casino's outdoor venue with special guest New Politics, a dance-rock band from Denmark, at 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29. Tickets start at $18. 

Journey

Classic rock takes center stage at The Soaring Eagle in the outdoor show for Journey on Sept. 6. Since 1973, the band has earned 19 Top 40 singles and 25 Gold and Platinum albums. Tickets start at $25.

Middle of the Mitt Music Festival 

Featuring co-headliners Slaughter and Saraha Steel, this one day music festival is slated for Sept. 20. Doors open at 4 p.m. Other bands performing are Let There Be Rock, an AC/DC tribute group; Dies to Rise, a Saginaw rock metal band; and Brothers in Music, Mount Pleasant's cover band. Tickets start at $15. 

Collective Soul wsg. Everclear

Triple-Platinum stars Collective Soul is coming to Mount Pleasant to rock out with special guest Everclear on Oct. 3. The rock band spent 76-weeks as number one on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Tickets start at $28. 

Santana

Guitar legend Santana is playing at The Soaring Eagle again on Oct. 10. For more than four decades, the guitar god has been sharing his tunes with the world. Tickets start at $56. 

Maze featuring Frankie Beverly

Described as passionate, soulful and original, R&B group Maze featuring Frankie Beverly will be hitting the stage in Mount Pleasant on Oct. 17. Tickets start at $28. 

Montgomery Gentry and Wynonna & The Big Noise

Country stars unite in the Montgomery Gentry and Wynonna & The Big Noise show in Mount Pleasant. Telling stories through their songs, the groups are ready to rock the stage on Oct. 25. Tickets start at $34. 

The Doobie Brothers

Four-time Grammy winners The Doobie Brothers are coming to Mount Pleasant to share their tunes with the community on Nov. 1. The group has been a standard on radio for decades. Tickets start at $22.

Little Big Town wsg. Brett Eldredge

Little Big Town is coming back to The Soaring Eagle to share the stage with rising country star Brett Eldredge on Dec. 6. The country groups are on "The Pain Killer" tour. Tickets start at $52.
