ELI looking for conversation partners

The English Language Institute is seeking english-speaking conversation partners for international students learning English.

Conversation partners would have the opportunity to learn about another culture, while enriching an international student’s experience with English conversation and American culture while they are studying in the United States.  Anyone can sign up, as long as they speak english and have the desire to act as a host of the Mount Pleasant and Central Michigan University community.

Conversation partners will be assigned an individual ELI student with whom they will meet with once a week for informal speaking practice.

They typically have more ELI students requesting partners than American volunteers, so those who sign up for the Conversation Partners Program will most likely be put into small groups.

Those interested can contact Maria McNeel at mcnee1mb@cmich.edu for more information. Candidates will be notified by email about a placement opportunity.
