East Campus Drive to reopen Monday
A section of East Campus Drive will reopen Monday, after being blocked to make room for construction on a hotel near Kelly/Shorts Stadium. The road was blocked for the past week, and will be closed again in May.
East Campus Drive will reopen Monday, Jan. 26 after being blocked for a week to make room for construction near Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
The road will close again at the end of the semester to continue construction work, said Vice President of Facilities Management Steve Lawrence.
“East Campus Drive is closed to realign the road to make room for the construction of the hotel,” he said. “(The road) will close again after graduation from mid-May to early August so (workers) can pave (the road).”
The land being leased by Lodge Co. Hospitality LLC will feature a Courtyard Marriott that will be built adjacent to Kelly/Shorts Stadium. Construction of the hotel stands to be completed in March 2016.
