UPDATE: Missing man's body found in river

Joshua VanHorn, 25, went missing around 8 p.m. last night. 

The body of Joshua VanHorn was located this morning by the Mount Pleasant Police Department. 

Officers walking on the bank of the Chippewa River discovered the 35-year-old's body in the water. The Mount Pleasant Fire Department, along with the Isabella County dive team recovered the body from the river.

VanHorn had been missing since June 16 and was last seen swimming in the Chippewa River near Nelson Park. The search for him was suspended for the night and resumed this morning when officers discovered the body.

The investigation will be ongoing pending further interviews and an autopsy. His family has been notified.
