After starting the season off 0-4 record, Central Michigan University field hockey dropped another two games this weekend against Northwestern and Drexel and are still battling for the first win of the season.

The Chippewas' 0-6 record is the worst record in the Mid-American Conference and have been outscored by their opponents 36-7.

Both games were on the campus of Northwestern in Evanston, Illinois.

No. 9 Northwestern came into the matchup boasting a 4-2 record.

The Chippewas didn’t manage to score a goal, and the Wildcats had no trouble taking advantage of the vulnerable CMU defense, scoring three goals in the first half and four in the second half defeating the Chippewas 7-0.

On day two of the road trip, the team faced Drexel, which also came into the game without a victory this season.

The game remained scoreless until the 39th minute of second half when Drexel forward Danielle Grassi scored on an assist from Megan Wiest.  The Dragons would go onto score three more unanswered goals until sophomore forward Haley Bova scored in the 66th minute, assisted by senior midfielder Kaysie Gregory.

The next chance for Central Michigan field hockey team to get their first victory of the season is at 3 p.m. Friday at home against UC Davis.
