Six former Chippewas to be inducted in 2015 Marcy Weston Hall of Fame class
Central Michigan University Athletics announced Thursday that six former athletes and one entire team will be inducted into the Central Michigan University Marcy Weston Hall of Fame.
The induction ceremony is Oct. 16 at McGuirk Arena and the inductees will also be honored at the CMU-Buffalo football game during halftime on Oct. 17.
The six inductees are Chris Marshall (wrestling, 1999-2000), Matt Means (football, men’s basketball, 1971-74), Scott MacGregor (baseball, 1988-91), Amber (Puchalski) Darracq (softball, 2001-04), Kara (Reighard) Schuette (gymnastics, 2002-05) and Janel Spero (field hockey, 1999-2002).
The men’s basketball team from 1974-75, which won the Mid-American Conference basketball championship and won in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Georgetown 77-75, will also be inducted.
This is the 32nd group to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, which now has 196 members.
The ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. and is free to the public.
