​Field Hockey falls to No. 8 Louisville

After a rough game at Miami, Central Michigan’s field hockey team fell to Louisville Sunday, 3-0.

The eighth-ranked Cardinals came into the match on Sunday 10-5 and 0-5 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

During the first half, the Chippewas opened strong and senior goalkeeper Sadie Lynn Reynolds made six saves on the goal, leaving the Cardinals scoreless. The Chippewas had zero shots on the goal.

Coming back from the break, the Cardinals began to dominate within the first five minutes with a goal from forward Tess Hannah, assisted by Elisa Garcia. Louisville’s forward Nicole Woods scored not long after, assisted by Hannah.

During the 67th minute, Louisville’s Erin McCrudden scored, assisted by Elisa Garcia, closing out the 3-0 win for the Cardinals.

Reynolds made 11 saves overall on Louisville’s 14 shots on the goal. Louisville outshot the Chippewas 26-2.

The Chippewas move to 1-15 heading into the season against Ball State (2-14, 0-4 Mid-American Conference) in Muncie, Indiana on Oct. 30 at 3 p.m.
