RAPID REACTION: CMU 86 , WMU 82

The Central Michigan men's basketball team defeated Western Michgan 86-82, capturing its 10th home win.

Junior Marcus Keene led the Chippewas with 35 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer with 4.3 seconds to play. It was his 13 game with 30 or more points, which made him CMU's all-time leader in career 30-point games, passing former CMU player Ben Kelso.

After struggling in the first half, senior Braylon Rayson caught fire scoring 20 points.

The Broncos entered the game 0-9 on the road but didn't play like it. Thomas Wilder finished the game with 21 points for the Broncos.

WMU jumped out to a 20-4 lead early in the first half and led by as many as 16.

CMU outscored the Broncos 44-29 in the second half and took its first lead with two minutes to play.

What it means:

The Chippewas kept pace in the Mid-American Conference and knock off their rivals.

Although CMU was bothered by WMU's size, the Chippewas battled back to capture a much-needed win.

What's next:

CMU will take on Ohio Tuesday in Athens.
