Police searching for suspects in gas station robbery


Mount Pleasant Police are searching for two men who robbed a Shell gas station early Sunday morning, according to Lt. Jeff Browne of the Mount Pleasant Police Department.

At approximately 3:26 a.m., two African-American males wearing masks entered the Shell gas station, 718 S. Mission St., Browne said.

The pair demanded cash and told the clerk they had a gun, although a gun was never revealed, Browne said. The clerk gave the a an unknown amount of cash, and the suspects fled the scene.

Browne said one of the robbers was wearing a white mask with black clothing, and the other was wearing a blue and black mask with a lighter-colored outfit and red shoes.

No suspects have been identified. Police conducted a search with a K-9 unit in the surrounding area and are currently trying to obtain video footage of the crime, Browne said.
