Brandon Dillon, chair of the Michigan Democratic Party, will speak to students from 8-9 p.m. Sept. 13 in the Down Under Food Court.

Dillon was invited by the College Democrats at Central Michigan University to attend the organization’s second general meeting of the Fall 2017 semester. He previously served as a state representative for Michigan’s 75th District from 2010-15.

Ethan Petzold, president of the College Democrats, said politics impact everyone and it’s important for students to learn about their government.

“Our party is in uncharted territory under the Trump administration,” Petzold said. “Dillon brings a lot of experiences that previous parties haven’t been able to deal with.”

Dillon was chair of the Michigan Democratic Party during the 2016 presidential election. He will discuss his experiences during and after the election, as well as outline strategies for the future, Petzold said.
