Committee announced for College of Business Administration dean search

Provost Michael Gealt appointed 17 people to the committee leading the search for the next dean of the College of Business Administration (CBA) at Central Michigan University.

An open forum will take place from 2:30-3:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 21 in Grawn Hall Room 120G, to allow the CMU community to provide input for the search.

CBA Dean Charles Crespy announced his retirement to his staff in an email June 26. In an interview with Central Michigan Life, Crespy said the college is in "excellent shape" and "now is an appropriate time to hand off the reins."

Karl Smart will take over as interim dean following Crespy's departure. Crespy's last day is Sept. 30.

Vice President of Advancement Bob Martin will lead the search committee.

  • Ian Davison, interim senior vice provost for academic affairs
  • Gay Ebers-Franckowiak, CMU donor, Advancement Board member and member of the Fire Up for Excellence campaign
  • Michael O'Donnell, CMU donor, Advancement Board member and chair of the Fire up for Excellence campaign
  • Obinna Obilo, Marketing and Hospitality Services Administration faculty member 
  • Jennifer Olsen, Business Information Systems faculty member 
  • Lori Olsen, School of Accounting chair 
  • Spenser Robinson, Entrepreneurship faculty member 
  • Carlos Salcido Jr., Allen Park senior 
  • Jeffrey Seely, CMU donor, Advancement Board member and member for the Fire Up for Excellence campaign
  • Jason Taylor, Economics faculty member 
  • Dave Underwood, CMU donor and Advancement Board member
  • Jon Voigtman, CMU donor and Advancement Board member
  • Nancy White, Finance and Law Department chair 

According to a press release from University Communications, Storbek/Pimentel and Associates was appointed to assist in the search.
