SPJ to host second annual 'Mingle With the Media' event
The Central Michigan University chapter of Society of Professional Journalists will be hosting "Mingle With the Media" from 7-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26 in Biosciences 1010. Students interested in media will have the opportunity to speak to representatives from student publications and registered student organizations.
The event is meant to encourage involvement in student journalism and communications on-campus. Some of the organizations that will be present tabling include Central Michigan Life, Her Campus, Raw Magazine, Grand Central Magazine, Central Review, Moore Hall TV and SPJ.
“What we want students to take away [from this event] is that there are many different ways to get involved,” SPJ Vice President Joseph Abrams said. “Far too often people spend years here without even exploring (opportunities) or getting any experience.”
