In celebration of CM Life's upcoming 100 Year Anniversary, we asked alumna Briann Wasson to reflect on her time at CM Life and how it helped her get prepared for the job she has today.

Q: What year did you begin working for CM Life?

A: I think January of 2014.

Q: How long were you here?

A:  4 semesters. I graduated in December of 2015.

Q: What position did you work in?

A: Campaigns Designer and Creative Services Manager

Q: What were some of the highlights or favorite memories while working for CM Life?

A: I just really loved getting to know everyone on staff and hanging out. Winning CMBAM a couple times was definitely a highlight!

Q: How did your experience at CM Life influence your career today?

A: I don't have an official graphic design degree so having CM-Life on my resume, and all the experience working with clients and account managers really helped me build a portfolio and have a leg up after I graduated. I was also able to walk into an advertising agency as a designer and immediately understand the procedures and processes. It also gave me a love of working with small businesses and helping them grow their brand.

Q: Do you still keep up with CM Life regularly?

A:  I do! I check the website every so often just to see how things are going, and I'm in the facebook groups.

Q: Where do you work now?

A: I'm a graphic designer at WriterAccess and I also do freelance work on the side for small businesses.

Q: What advice do you have for current CM Lifers?

A: Soak it up for all it's worth and enjoy the ride.

The 100 Year Anniversary celebration will be at Soaring Eagle Casino and Conference Center on Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. Click here to purchase tickets. They must be purchased by Nov. 13 at 4 p.m. in order to attend.
