Stan Shingles selected as interim chief diversity officer

Central Michigan University President Bob Davies has named Stan Shingles as CMU's Interim Chief Diversity Officer, according to a press release from the university. 

He will be replace A.T. Miller as he steps down Aug. 31. Davies originally announced Miller's decision to step down Aug. 14.

According to the press release, a search for the next vice president/chief diversity officer will begin this fall.

Shingles, assistant vice president for University Recreation and student engagement for the Office of Student Affairs, has worked at CMU for 30 years in many different roles. He is currently on the the university's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council.

"As a dedicated administrator with a passion for CMU's diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, Stan was a natural choice to serve in this interim role," Davies said. "His background and knowledge will serve the university well."
