Central Michigan University’s Office of Student Activities and Involvement (SAI) is hosting a virtual "Fired Up Challenge" to celebrate homecoming week.

During the week of Oct. 19, a series of events will be hosted virtually for students and Registered Student Organizations to participate in.

In order to participate, students need to register in teams on Engage Central by 11:45 p.m. Oct. 14.

Since all of the events stand alone, students can engage in any number of events to win prizes.

The goal of the "Fired Up Challenge" is to build and provide community for students.

“While this fall semester has looked quite different than previous ones, we hope the Fired Up Challenge provides an opportunity for students to take a break and have some fun with fellow CMU students,” said Joshua Olszewski, SAI graduate assistant .

Teams can win prizes at any of the events with the exception of the virtual concert. At each event, teams can win points at and the top scoring teams will receive a prize. In addition, a random team will be chosen at each event to win a prize, regardless of points.

The annual Gold Ambassador will still be voted on by the student body. Campus-wide voting for the Gold Ambassador opens on Oct. 18, and closes on Thursday, Oct. 22 at noon.

The the five Gold Ambassador nominees include:

  • Emily Thelen – Robinson & Calkins Hall Council
  • LeeAnn Rielle – Admissions' Campus Ambassadors
  • Kaitlyn Prebelich – Student Government Association
