A team of recreation students is hosting a free, virtual, family-friendly pizza party at 5:45, on Wednesday, Nov. 11.

The Zoom gathering will include step-by-step directions on how to make a homemade pizza. Local firefighters will be in attendance to educate participants on kitchen safety.

The event is family-friendly and aimed to teach young kids how to cook but is not limited to CMU students or the rest of the Mount Pleasant community.

50 participants can sign up to receive a free pizza making supply kit so they can follow along at home. Distribution of the kits are Monday from 5-7 p.m. and Tuesday 4-6 p.m.

Register for the event is virtual via Google Forms.

The event has already raised over $2,000 in donations from local businesses according to Canton junior McKenna Pierce, one of the Pleasant Pizza Party organizers. All proceeds will be raised and donated to the Isabella County Community Compassion Network to help people struggling with food insecurity.
