CMU to celebrate Black History Month
February is Black History Month and Central Michigan University is celebrating with a variety of events.
The Office of Multicultural Academic Student Services (MASS) is partnering with other CMU organizations to host different events all encompassing the topic "The Black Family."
"The black family has been a topic of study in many disciplines—history, literature, the visual arts and film studies, sociology, anthropology, and social policy," the MASS website states. "Its representation, identity, and diversity have been reverenced, stereotyped, and vilified from the days of slavery to our own time."
The events will be hosted primarily online throughout the month of February.
