To kick off the Spring 2021 Meijer Visiting Writers Series, Central Michigan University will virtually host author Marc Anthony Richardson.

Richardson will perform a reading with a Q&A to follow at 7 p.m. Feb. 11 via WebEx.

Richardson is reading from either his well known book “Year of the Rat” or his upcoming novel “Messiah” which will come out next fall. The reading will last 30 minutes and is open to anyone wishing to attend.

Richardson has won multiple awards for his writing including the Ronald Sukenick Innovative Fiction Prize and also received a PEN America Grant.

In the past, this series has been hosted in person with food and beverages available. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, each event will be held via Webex.

“Our Webex readings last semester, they were just so well attended,” said Matthew Roberson, English language and literature faculty member said. “They were such a great success, so I’m expecting the same.”
