Take Back the Tap to host World Water Week events

Take Back the Tap will be hosting events for 'World Water Week' March 22-26,

"Our big focus (this year) is educating the campus community about the human right to water and the consequences of water privatization." President of Take Back the Tap Abigail Sheppard said. "This year, we are hoping to get a lot of people on board to put pressure on administrators to end the sale of plastic water bottles on campus."

Beginning on World Water Day March 22, plastic water bottles will be removed from The Market until the end of the week. Bottled water will be removed from all campus stores for the day March 24.

Sheppard encourages students to review the social media toolkit for suggestions on how to spread the message on social media.

Events are free to attend and will take place virtually.

Take Back the Tap will have informational tabling in the UC by the Down Under Food Court 1-4 p.m. March 19.
