Women’s basketball drops Saturday matchup with Ohio

Despite a season-high shooting performance, Central Michigan (3-12, 1-5) women’s basketball struggled to control the basketball resulting in a 75-65 loss in McGuirk Arena against Ohio (8-4, 2-1)on Saturday.

The Chippewas recorded 21 turnovers but finished 9-for-26 from three and 25-for-56 from the field. Ohio went 28-for-66 from the floor and 9-for-26 from deep. 

The Bobcats came in ranked number one in the MAC for scoring. They were led by senior guard Cierra Hooks, who recorded 30 points and four assists. 

Junior guard Molly Davis led the Chippewas in scoring with 18 points while adding seven assists. Freshman guard Tiana Timpe finished close behind with 15 points, going 5-for-12 from three. 

After a one-game stand in Mount Pleasant, the Chippewas head to Bowling Green, Ohio, to face the Falcons on Wednesday, at 7 p.m.
