Women's basketball falls short against Eastern Michigan

Although they fought back from a 23-point deficit, Central Michigan (4-21, 2-14)  women’s basketball struggled to keep pace with Eastern Michigan (7-16, 4-12) resulting in a 83-70 loss on Saturday. 

The Chippewas’ streak is now a season-high seven games, as they were without junior guard Molly Davis due to injury.

Prior to the contest, CMU honored its two seniors Kalle Martinez and Jahari Smith.

The Eagles’ Ce’Nara Skanes led all players with 17 points and 16 rebounds.

CMU was led by freshman Tiana Timpe finished with 18 points while shooting 6-for-8 from three. Freshman Karrington Gordon with 14 points, a career-high.

EMU recorded 56 points in the paint, 24 more than CMU.

The Chippewas welcome Toledo to McGuirk Arena on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Rockets won the first game in the season series by 25 points.
